Primary Health Care and the Department of Family Practice have been engaging Nova Scotians, elected community leaders, family physicians, Primary Health Care staff and health system partners on collaborative family practice teams. NSHA has hosted 11 stakeholder conversations with town, municipal, and First Nations leaders, followed by conversations with provincial Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs). There are 26 community conversations scheduled in 2018 across the province, designed to:
- share information about collaborative family practice teams
- hear participants’ thoughts through group discussion, and
- learn what communities feel we need to know to support these teams to be successful in Nova Scotia
As of March 31, 2018, we had hosted six community conversations with 168 Nova Scotians and 11 stakeholder conversations with 95 participants.
